Our volunteer committee

Meet our volunteers

The Fund is guided by local volunteers committed to strengthening Toodyay.

David Miller

Living in the Shire of Toodyay since 2016 I have fallen in love with the town of Toodyay and its people. There is a sense of community here that is hard to find elsewhere. I continue to run the family business that started in 1994 from my home in Morangup.

Beck Hefferon

I am a physiotherapist, Churchill Fellow, ultra-runner and artist living in Toodyay – a place that in many respects reminds me of the farming community I grew up in the UK. I love the relaxed community feel of Toodyay and am passionate about making our town an even better place.

Sean Hefferon

I’m a former Toodyay Herald editor, psychologist and MBA with global executive experience, now focused on building community connection and resilience through the Toodyay Community Fund. Living in Toodyay is great – and with your help we can make it even better!

Alison Wroth

I have lived in Toodyay all my life, born and bred as the saying goes. Four generations on my side as well as my husband’s, give me the privilege of being a local in this community, a special status of which I am very proud. I have put my whole heart into the Toodyay Agricultural Society for 32 years, being a Life Member & serving as President for two terms. It is my pleasure to support community groups and the growth of Toodyay in any way possible on this committee.

Verity Morgan-Schmidt

As CEO of Farmers for Climate Action, I draw on extensive experience in food security and sustainability. I grew up on a sheep and wheat farm, with family roots in the Toodyay region dating to 1836. I’m passionate about rural resilience, community connection and local leadership. After a decade on the East Coast, I returned to WA in 2023 and now live near Toodyay with my four daughters.
